Soundown's Pipe and Duct Wrap / Laggings are multi-purpose composite materials manufactured and sold in 4' X 25' rolls. These products are available in several variations to solve your specific application requirements. The products feature a faced flexible acoustic mass barrier bonded to an insulating acoustic fiberglass decoupling layer. Specify your choice of 1, 1.5 or 2 lb/sqft mass loaded vinyl (use the heavier barrier for low frequency noise attenualtion.)

Specify silver, grey or white reinforced protective finish. The decoupling layer is bonded to the inside of the acoustic barrier to provide thermal and vibration insulation, it is available in 1" or 2" thicknesses; Specify your decoupler choice of quilted 2 lb/cuft nominal density acoustic fibergalss or black 1.5 lb/cuft nominal density acoustic fiberglass (use the higher density for best attenuation results).

Application: Pipes and Ducts
Wrap noisy pipes, waste pipes, ducts, valves and fan housings to prevent break through noise from transmitting through the wall of the pipe or duct: measure the exterior diameter, add about 5" for overlap, cut that length from the 4' wide roll, wrap the lagging on, tape closed with duct tape or with matching Soundown mylar tape - repeat.

Suspended Ceilings
For privacy enhancement of acoustic suspended ceilings to prevent break through noise from transmitting through to the space above. Simply lay the lagging sheet on top of your ceiling panels* with the fiberglass side down. Precut 2'X4' panels are available to fit your ceiling grid for a fee.* Note: the installer must assess suitability of the ceiling grid and supports for adding additional weight.

Interior Walls of Home & Apartment HVAC Closets
Apply the lagging with fender washers and screws to the interior walls of apartment HVAC closets. To increase structureborne vibration dampening: substitute peel-n'-stick pressure sensitive adhesive to achieve full surface contact of the acoustic mass layer to your interior walls and then use the fender washers with screws. (Ask us about aspiration baffles for interior HVAC to achieve a tight, satisfactory job.)

Interior Machine Cabinets
Substitute peel-n'-stick pressure sensitive adhesive to achieve full surface contact of the acoustic mass layer to your machine cabinet interior surfaces. Die and CNC cutting is available for production orders.
